Warm welcome to the opening of Ajla Selenić’s ‘Silent World’ art exhibition on Thursday, 16 April, from 17 to 21 💙

 

​Our life evolves around most precious and meaningful moments when we profoundly feel, trust and understand each other even without words. Yet, we mostly suffer from feeling unable to absolutely express our own inner world to others nor to comprehend with absolute certainty another human being or reality of the world. 

 

The most profound, pure and truthful inner world of a human being, as well as the entire life experience, mostly remains hidden, unknown or unexpressed to the outside world. What we live, feel, strive to understand, say and share in our attempts to reach another human being or to relate to the entirety of the world and human existence - are just fragments of an immense invisible space overwhelmed with emotions, thoughts, dreams and memories, which vanish mostly unexpressed, unknown into the unfathomable.​

 

Educated as an architect and most influenced by philosophy, literature and poetry, Ajla Selenić experiments at the intersection of art, architecture and phenomenology, exploring the intertwinement of human inner experience with the perception of space, time and light and an awareness of the immaterial, invisible essence in our reality.

 

In addition to an extensive professional biography as an accomplished architect with numerous awards and projects exhibited internationally, she continuously focuses on art projects. Her artworks have been published internationally - in Austria, Italy, Serbia, Germany, China, and Japan. Her artwork consists of installations, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and an archive of visual and textual records.

The exhibition is on view from 16.4 till 26.4. Our doors are open Tue-Sat 14-18 and Sun 13-17. Free entry. Warm welcome 💙
