"Me and the Machine" explores the human being as a living system. The series was inspired by the intelligence of the body, our habits and routines, and the larger systems of nature that sustain life. The three paintings follow a journey from trust, through routine, to self-awareness. While we often function automatically, like machines, we also have the ability to understand our patterns and consciously shape our lives. The geometric structures reference both inner and outer systems, from cells and behaviour to the larger order of nature.
